School Resource Officers
The Madison County Sheriff's Office currently employees two full-time School Resource Officers at the Sugar-Salem School District (http://www.SugarSalem.com). They work with the school students, parents, and faculty dealing with any school-related crime and prevention. They are also ultimately in charge of school safety.

Lieutenant Cameron Stanford
Lt. Cameron Stanford started for the Madison County Sheriff's Office in 2001 as the Sugar City Resident Deputy, working previously for Rexburg Police / Ricks College Division for 5 years. He is a Patrol Lieutenant, and spends a great part of his day writing grants for the county, which provide much of the funding necessary to equip the deputies with the tools they need to perform. He also oversees Madison's Homeland Security Program. He has worked with the schools for 6 years now and enjoys the interaction with the students and staff. Lt. Corporal John Kindred
Cpl. John Kindred started his career with Madison County Sheriff's Office in 2009, transferring from Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, where he spent 5 years in the schools, and several years as a road patrol deputy. He loves working in the school environment. He started his career in law enforcement in 2002, leaving 12 years experience in the computer network field as a Network Engineer. He helps out with the county computer and communication systems and is our webmaster. Cpl. Kindred oversees the Sheriff's Reserve Deputy Program as the Reserve Commander.
