Detective Division
The Detective Division of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for conducting criminal investigations within Madison County as well as assignment to the Tri-County Sheriff’s Investigations, Upper Valley Major Crimes Task Force and the Upper Valley Drug Task Force.
The detective division has six full time detectives and one evidence / crime scene technician. They are responsible for the investigation of all felony crimes, as well as assisting patrol deputies with many misdemeanor investigations.
The detectives work closely using a team approach with all surrounding law enforcement jurisdictions as well as state and federal entities, Health and Welfare, and the Family Crisis Center.
Madison County Detectives have over 75 years of combined experience as well as over 8,700 P.O.S.T. certified training hours.
Captain Travis Williams
Detective Division
Cpt. Travis Williams has worked for the Madison County Sheriff's Office since 1995, when he was hired in 1995 as a School Resource Officer for Madison Jr. High. After three years he transfered to the detective divison. He has been a Tri-County Sheriff's Investigator for 11 years. Cpt. Williams currently manages the Eight County Major Crimes Task Force as well as the Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Divison. He is the SRT (Sheriff's Response Team) Commander as well as the Public Information Officer.
